A sociologist and researcher in General Sociology, field GSPS-05/A (formerly SPS/07), at the Department of Human, Philosophical and Educational Sciences (DISUFF), University of Salerno, Giovannipaolo Ferrari founded and coordinates DiSoSWLab and is an associate researcher at CeRIES—the Centre for Research ‘Individuals, Experiences, Societies’—at the University of Lille.
He holds the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for Associate Professor, second level, in General Sociology — field GSPS-05/A — and the French Qualification for Maître de conférences, Section 19 — Sociologie et Démographie.
He has taught in Italy, France and China, and within the British university system through the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. He also spent a period as a visiting scholar in the United States at Middlebury College, Vermont. He has taught as a Visiting Professor at the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences, University of Bamberg, Germany, and has delivered seminars and courses at numerous other Italian universities. His work combines qualitative and quantitative social research, digital methods, policy analysis and public sociology.
